market share was still declining, but between 20-when Adidas ramped up production of Yeezy Boost sneakers-that number nearly doubled.Ĭoncepts, a sneaker shop in Cambridge, Massachusetts that’s both a boutique and a frequent collaborator with brands like Nike, Adidas, and New Balance, isn’t where local Boston Marathon runners go to shop. But this fact actually supports the claim that West’s own Boost shoes aided the tech’s mass adoption. So with Boost technology adorning each Yeezy 350 sold, it’s no wonder that the tech has spent the last three years trickling down from sneakers that kids sweat to get to ones even your uncle can pick up at the mall.Īnd here’s the kicker: West joined Adidas in late 2013-after the first Boost release-and didn’t issue his own sneaker until early 2015. More than two years after the first 350 dropped, Adidas released the gray Yeezy Boost 350 V2 “Beluga 2.0,” the most widely available Yeezy Boost to date, which reportedly sold upwards of 200,000 pairs upon its release. Design-wise the 350 feels like an extension of the Ultra Boost’s sock-like proposition, albeit a slightly more futuristic version. But it wouldn’t be farfetched to assume that many customers were willing to pay full price for the $180 style (which again as Kernan says is a big deal) because Kanye West wore them first.īeyond Adidas running shoes, West’s own line of sneakers-including the insanely popular low-top Adidas Yeezy Boost 350-all feature Adidas Boost in the soles save for the new Adidas Yeezy 500. And so we were all excited to see him wear it.” Kernan, meanwhile, specifically cites the Ultra Boost as the most successful Boost sneaker to date, in part because it has a profit margin “several hundred percent more” than other Adidas sneakers. The performance, the comfort, the sock-like feel. “What’s interesting is that Kanye picked up the shoes on his own for the same reasons anyone picks them up. By 2012, the company was testing prototype shoes with Boost.īarr cites West’s powerful connection with his fans as the reason he moves the needle, especially when it came to the Ultra Boost. We could not stop watching this video and imagined what we can do with that material: we could revolutionize the running industry with that material,” says Matthias Am, the Category Director of Global Running at Adidas. “We could not believe how higher the ball bounced back compared to EVA foams which were the standard material at that time. The first time Adidas saw Boost, it was via a small, tennis-sized ball that was used as a demo to show just how bouncy the material is. Later, BASF’s scientists realized the particles were useful when welded together with steam into one solid piece. At the time, it was nothing more than tiny little white particles the company called “energy capsules” (which basically look like squishy Tic-Tacs). BASF first developed what became Boost in 2007. What we know as Boost is actually made by a German chemical company called Badische Anilin & Soda-Fabrik (BASF for short), and the Three Stripes just pays BASF for the exclusive rights to this technology. Here’s the first thing to know about Adidas’s premier running shoe technology: it’s not actually made by Adidas. Five years after the first Adidas Energy Boost hit shelves, it’s worth breaking down how Boost, well, boosted Adidas to the top of the sneaker game. (So much so that we've started referring to Adidas's history in terms of B.B. But Adidas also owes much of its recent success to a white foam sole called Boost, which set a new standard in comfort and cool in the sneaker market. They also signed Kanye West, whose Yeezy line of sneakers pushed Adidas to the top of the hype conversation. In 2014, Adidas reissued its legendary Stan Smith tennis sneakers behind a massive marketing campaign, helping make them the coolest shoes among both fashion designers and brunch-going bros. What sparked the turnaround? A few things. On both mass market and limited-edition level, from Air Maxes to Air Yeezys, Nike looked unstoppable.Ī little over five years later, though, Adidas is not just more competitive than it was a half-decade ago from a financial standpoint-with reported increases in revenue and market share-but it’s also made up serious ground in innovation and style. Its market share of athletic footwear was hovering around 60 percent, and it had just introduced the most groundbreaking sneaker technology of the millenium in Flyknit, the godfather of knit upper running shoes. In the United States, Nike’s home base, the Swoosh was even more dominant. Nike's stiffest global competition, Adidas, wasn’t so much a distant second as an almost non-existent one. Back in 2012, if you asked anyone what the hottest sneaker brand in the world was and they didn’t immediately say Nike, you’d have thought they were either insane or lying.

But is Steam among one of those platforms? But still, what we’ve seen of The Expanse shows promise of a dramatic, plot-driven experience following series lead Camina Drummer (who Cara Gee returns to voice) and her fellow scavengers on the hunt for treasures tucked deep into the reaches of space.įans of The Expanse or Telltale Games have several ways to enjoy Drummer’s latest peril. Well, this isn’t quite the same team that worked on any of Telltale’s previous entries, considering the original developer was dissolved. With The Expanse: A Telltale Series, the developer is tackling Amazon’s six-season science-fiction series, but is a release on Steam likely? Through series like Game of Thrones and Guardians of the Galaxy, Telltale told original tales in established universes. After you install this add-on, go back into the game, open the episodes menu again and select download for each episode.Long after enamoring fans of The Walking Dead with an interactive narrative adventure set in Robert Kirkman’s post-apocalyptic world, Telltale Games has been on the hunt for a new IP fitting for its story-telling chops. Note: you might see another icon that displays “Game of Thrones - Episode 1: Iron From Ice”, but this is not the correct icon you’re looking for - this is just the base version of the game you originally downloaded from the Microsoft store which only includes episode 1.Īfter you highlight “Game of Thrones - A Telltale Games Series”, press the start button on your controller, select “Manage Bundle”, then under the Add-ons section, you should see an option for “Game of Thrones: Season Pass” with a check box for install. The solution: go back to your xbox dashboard home screen, toggle your thumb stick over to the icon that shows what’s currently in your disc drive (when you have the Game of Thrones game disc inserted, the icon should display “Game of Thrones - A Telltale Games Series”). When I put the disc in and loaded the game, I checked the episodes menu and realized nothing had changed - it still said episodes 2-6 are available now for download in the Microsoft store, but it still wouldn’t allow me to download them. Ok, as promised, here are the step-by-step instructions: Hopefully you can find a copy of the game for cheap as well. Luckily, I found a used Xbox One copy of the game (with disc only, no manual) for cheap from someone nearby on Facebook Marketplace. Also, the game manual is not required, seeing as how you don’t have to enter in any codes to redeem. Secondly, these instructions will work for new OR USED disc copies of the game. On Xbox’s official website, here’s a list Xbox 360 games that ARE compatibility with Xbox One, and Telltale’s Game of Thrones is NOT on it: This website has a list of Xbox 360 games that are NOT compatible with Xbox One, and Telltale’s Game of Thrones IS on it: But I did some research and found the following info: Also, I don’t think the Xbox 360 version of the game is backwards compatible with Xbox One, but I’m not 100% sure because I haven’t tested it myself. Unfortunately, I think the only way to download the episodes on consoles is to have a physical disc copy of the game. I decided to share my findings on here to hopefully help prevent any more unnecessary stress, frustration and wasted time from people just trying to play a damn video game! □įirst off, keep in mind that these instructions are for the Xbox One version of the game, but hopefully this will help Playstation users as well. However, much to my agonizing dismay, I realized episodes 2-6 are no longer available for download in the Microsoft & Playstation stores because the Telltale Games company self-imploded! After countless hours of looking for solutions online, I finally figured out how to legally download episodes 2-6 on my Xbox One. Like many others, I really enjoyed playing episode 1 of Telltale’s Game of Thrones game, and I was very excited to play the remaining episodes. Normally, we’d do an analysis of the table to determine which columns are PII and which are not, but in this case, I’d like to be able to generate arbitrary amounts of data for this schema so I’ll need to create a generating function for each column. Once installed, we can start masking individual columns. Refer to the Faker documentation for more details on how to install Faker, but in short you can run: As you can see, the table contains a variety of sensitive data including names, SSNs, birthdates, and salary information. Our ‘production’ data has the following schema. Our goal will be to generate a new dataset, our synthetic dataset, that looks and feels just like the original data. The data we will use is a table of employees at a fictitious company. We obviously won’t use real data in this article we’ll use data that is already fake but we will pretend it is real. This article, however, will focus entirely on the Python flavor of Faker. It is also available in a variety of other languages such as perl, ruby, and C#. What is Fakerįaker is a python package that generates fake data. To accomplish this, we’ll use Faker, a popular python library for creating fake data. In this article we’ll look at a variety of ways to populate your dev/staging environments with high quality synthetic data that is similar to your production data. Restricting access to high quality data with which to build and test leads to a variety of issues, including making it more difficult to find bugs. New regulations around data privacy and an increasing awareness of the importance of protecting sensitive data is pushing companies to lock down access to their production data. I've been playing in amateur tournaments for the past five years. The young actor couldn't resist this last role, not only for the chance to work with Duvall again, but because of his prowess for golf-he shoots in the low 70s and hopes to play professionally some day-and because of the movie's faith-based themes. It is Black's third film with Duvall-he had a role in 1996's Sling Blade, but more recently, has starred opposite the Academy Award winner in 2010's excellent Get Low and now in Utopia. Duvall's character, who happens to be a former golf pro, takes Luke under his wing and teaches him a thing or two about the game-and about life. When Luke's anger leads to a meltdown in a tournament, he drives off in a huff and ends up running off the road in the small town of Utopia, where he meets an old cowboy played by Robert Duvall. It is nice to see a young, credible actor such as Black not forgetting where he came from and he does his best with what he is given here, too bad it's not much.Based on the Zondervan book of the same title, Utopia stars Black as Luke Chisolm, a young golf pro with a hot game and a hotter temper. It is an admirable effort, but it is nothing spectacular and you can see where things are going as soon as Lucas Black wrecks his car in the small town of Utopia. There is the innocent love interest that doesn't go anywhere and Melissa Leo seems to show up for no other reason than maybe she just wanted to be a part of the project. Duvall as the ancient master who teaches the young student how to regain his way and stay on the right path. Sure, the film has a good message and I wouldn't discourage people showing it to their children, but as someone who has seen the story multiple times i at least expected some interesting characters along the way. Duvall is playing in but this movie skews so closely to the archetypes of every inspirational sports film it is hard not to dismiss it. I imagined it might stand a chance of grasping my attention because I can always seem to find an interest in anything Mr. I was partially right by the time the last half hour of the film came around and it was as predictable as every other sports film I had completely lost interest. To be blunt, I have always found it boring and with the fact I was never able to make it through that Shia LaBeouf movie "The Greatest Game Ever Played" I didn't think this one stood a chance either. Mainly because I have never had any interest in the sport. Initially I had no interest in seeing this Christian-based film about golf. Not one I would watch again, but not one I regret seeing either." The movie has some great actor's in the film and that is what caught my eye. The movie has drama, comedy, and a bit of romance (not much). The movie is more about Johnny helping Luke find himself, faith, and to teach him that a game does not define him. The movie really doesn't have much of the game in the film. My Thoughts: "I am not a fan of Golf, nor do I enjoy watching it at all, well unless it's in a film with actor's I enjoy watching. Luckily for Luke, a cagey old rancher enters his life there to change it - and him - forever. For golfer Luke Chisholm, that turns out to be Utopia, Texas - where he's left stranded after blowing his pro debut. The SEP IRA and the Solo 401(k) have become a popular savings tool for self-employed persons who don't have an employer 401(k) plan, as they allow them to contribute more than the annual $6,000 contribution that is allowed in a Traditional IRA or Roth IRA. If this didn’t work, make sure your monitor and graphics card can run at your chosen resolution. Windows designates one of these resolutions as “recommended” based on the display’s hardware. Step 4: Select a screen resolution that works best for you. Step 3: With your secondary screen highlighted, scroll down to Scale and Layout and click the drop-down menu located under Display Resolution. Click on the secondary display shown in the diagram. Step 2: The Settings app opens with the Display panel loaded by default. Step 1: Right-click your desktop and select the Display Settings option on the resulting pop-up menu. If you add a new, higher-resolution monitor to your system and find that it’s not displaying correctly, it might be borrowing settings from an older display, or simply trying to match your primary monitor. If it doesn’t, contact your retailer or manufacturer to discuss a return or replacement. If it does, consider running it as the primary display until you determine the root problem. If you’re still having trouble with your extended desktop monitor, verify that it works by unplugging the primary screen and double-checking the above steps again. Making sure you’re running the latest graphics drivers for your system can sometimes fix problems with no signal errors. Update your drivers: Windows supports multiple monitors by default, but your current setup may not be configured correctly. Switching to another may be all you need to do to correct the problem. Sometimes ports themselves can go bad or somehow get damaged. You can also try using a new cable in case the old one has issues (bent pins, a short, exposed wire, etc.).Ĭhange the graphics port: If you’re using a dedicated graphics card with multiple output ports, try switching to another port. Try to remove the adapter if possible, or replace it with another adapter to see if this fixes the issue.Ĭhange data cable: If you’re using an older cable standard like VGA or DVI-D, you might want to try a newer alternative like HDMI or DisplayPort. If you are using an adapter to switch from one type of input to another, this may be causing issues with the other monitor. Use the buttons on your monitor to cycle through the channels and select the correct input from your PC. Verify the correct input: Monitors with multiple input options need you to manually select which cable and port you’re using, like HDMI 1, HDMI 2, DisplayPort 1.4, USB-C, and so on. You may need to find newer, compatible accessories or use connections on your PC instead of your monitor. If your display starts working afterward, these connections were probably interfering with your setup. Remove other peripheral devices: Disconnect any connected cameras or other unnecessary peripherals. If they do seem well secured, unplug them and plug them in again just to be sure. Verify cable connections: A loose cable can cause “no signal” errors more often than any other problem. That may be all it needs to recognize the video feed and start displaying it correctly. Turn the screen off and on: Some connection types don’t like hot swapping while a different monitor is powered on. In Windows 11, you can find this under the Multiple Displays section. In the following window, click the Detect button located under the display diagram. To force it to check again, right-click the desktop and select Display Settings from the resulting pop-up menu.
